Doctor’s body washes ashore

THE BODY of a Cuban doctor who went missing in the waters of Mayaro on Friday washed ashore yesterday.
At around midday the body of Arnaldo Java was discovered near on the beach near Radix Village.
Police said Java, a doctor attached to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, had checked into the Rash Hotel at Gould Street with Cuban nurses Daisy Sanchez and Tania Sanchez.
At around 5 p.m. Java and Daisy Sanchez were bathing in the sea when they encountered difficulties.
Daisy Sanchez was assisted by other bathers out of the water, but Java could not be found.
Yesterday Java’s body was taken to the Sangre Grande mortuary where an autopsy is expected to be performed today.
PC Tahir of the Mayaro Police Station is continuing investigations.
