Driver crashes into police vehicle

A 23-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence on Saturday morning after he crashed into a parked police vehicle.
Around 4.35 a.m., the man was driving a Nissan Cefiro, proceeding west along Naparima Mayaro Road, Mon Repos, in the vicinity of Mon Repos Police Station, when he lost control of the vehicle.
There were two other occupants in the car—a resident of Pleasantville and a resident of Lower Hillside, San Fernando. The driver is from Moruga.
Police said the driver crashed into a parked Nissan X-Trail, a registered police vehicle. It was parked on the southern side of the roadway, facing east.
The impact caused the Nissan X-Trail to collide with another Nissan X-Trail parked behind it.
Damage was caused to the front of the Nissan Cefiro and one of the police vehicles, while damage was caused to the front and back of one of the Nissan X-Trails.
WPC Figaro is continuing investigations.
