A WATCHMAN who initially thought the person he saw lying at the side of the road yesterday was a drunk man, later discovered it was the body of a man who had been shot multiple times.
The watchman told police officers that around 5 a.m. he saw the person at the roadside at Hermitage Village, La Romaine. He ventured closer about two hours later when he realised the person had not moved.
He discovered the body was covered in blood and contacted the police.
The body of the victim—Curt Bynoe, 21, of La Romaine—was later identified by his parents. He had gunshot wounds to the head and face.
Eyewitnesses said that a car was seen circling the area the previous night and gunshots were heard around 8 p.m.
PC Chase of the Southern Division Homicide Department is continuing investigations.
An autopsy is expected to be conducted tomorrow.
