Enterprise man shot dead

...murder toll stands at 266

A 35-year-old Chaguanas man was shot dead last night pushing the murder toll to 266. The latest murder victim was identified as Marlon "Smallboy" Phillip, of Tobago Road Extension, Enterprise.

According to a police report, at around 11.15 p.m. Phillip was walking near his home when several loud explosions were heard.

Neighbours looked out and found Phillip in a pool of blood suffering from gunshot wounds to the back of his head and back. 

A party of police officers of the Central Division Task Force and Homicide Bureau (South) visited the scene led by Inspector Teasedale and Sgt Jitendra Tooleram.

District medical Officer Dr. Iswaravaka examined the body and ordered the body removed to the San Fernando mortuary.
An autopsy is expected to be performed today at the Forensic Science Centre, St James.
