Ex-cop shot on Nelson St

 A former police constable is currently at Port of Spain General Hospital in a critical condition after he was shot several times about his body early yesterday morning. 

While up to press time full details remained unavailable, police sources told the Express that around 1 a.m, residents of Nelson Street, Port of Spain heard several loud explosions.

Upon checking, they found 31-year-old Marlon King, who was said to reside at Santa Rosa Heights, Arima, lying in a pool of blood along the roadway.

He was bleeding from multiple gunshot injuries to his upper torso. 

The police and emergency health services were notified and the injured man was rushed to hospital. 

Up to late yesterday, he was still at the Intensive Care Unit in a critical condition. 

Sources said that King resigned from the Police service in February. 

Investigations are continuing.
