Piarco Meteorologist Saide Shakeer says T&T is still not under any storm threat but bad weather will persist today. However, she said there was no release from the Met Office instructing employers to send their employees home due to imminent inclement weather yesterday.
Shakeer also urged citizens yesterday to heed reports and advisories released by the Met Office to make informed decisions about their safety and security. Weather forecasts will be issued at 6 a.m., 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. People can visit the website at www.metoffice.gov.tt for weather updates.
She said: “Citizens can listen to the Met Office for forecasts. We are not advising employers to send their employees home because of the weather conditions.
Asked about today’s weather, Shakeer said: “We have updated the bulletin and the conditions we were experiencing over the weekend will continue today. We are not under any storm threat. There is no storm in the immediate vicinity. But T&T can brace for the same cloudy to overcast showers and thundershowers. We still expect the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) to be over us. By tomorrow, we might see a little improvement.”
