COAST GUARD officers were up to late yesterday evening searching for two men — a father and son from Valencia — who went missing at sea on Saturday.

The officers said at around 7 p.m., they received a report of Mayhew Emmanuel, 63, and his son, 24-year-old Marcus Emmanuel vanishing while fishing at the Manzanilla beach.

Officers said they were told that the duo were last seen fishing along the shoreline of the beach around 4 p.m., but shortly after, they were nowhere to be found.

The police were initially called in and conducted a search of the beach without success. It was then that the Coast Guard were contacted said officers.

At sunrise yesterday, the officers with the assistance of the Air Guard continued their search. A dive team was also called and an urgent marine broadcast message was sent out to marine vessels in the area, but up to yesterday evening there were no information coming forward that could assist in finding the men, coast guard said.
