Female driver held with gun in car

A WOMAN who was driving a car in which officers found a pistol and a magazine is expected to appear in court for the offence.

She will face a magistrate alongside a man who was in the passenger seat when the gold-coloured Mazda 323 car was searched by police along Theresa Street, Marabella.

Cpl Bachan and a party officers stopped the car during an exercise on Friday night.

The gun and magazine were found under the driver’s seat.

The 26-year-old woman and 28-year-old man, both of Agnes Street, Marabella were arrested.

Also on Friday night, police officers from the Traffic Department, led by Cpl Ramdass, arrested seven people at Cross Crossing, San Fernando on breathalyser-related offences.

These offenders are expected in court today.
