A 63-YEAR-OLD woman from Finland will appear in the Arima Magistrates' Court this morning charged with having close to five kilogrammes of cocaine in her possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The woman was arrested at the Piarco International Airport on Friday after officers of the Organised Crime Narcotics and Firearms Bureau (OCNFB) found the drugs hidden in her luggage.
According to police reports, at around 8.30 a.m., the woman, who was about to board Caribbean Airlines Fight BW 610 en route to Canada when she was stopped by the officers at the security checkpoint and questioned.
The officers then carried out a search of the woman's belongings and found 4.7 kilogrammes of the narcotics. The drugs they said carried an estimated street value of $2 million.
