Four more murdered

FOUR men have been discovered murdered in separate incidents in the last 24 hours, bringing the murder toll to 32 in 17 days.

On Thursday in Rio Claro, the decomposing body of Rio Claro gardener, Abass Mohammed, was discovered.

At around 6.30 p.m. police were called to Pinder Trace, Rio Claro where Mohammed, 60, was found with a wound to his head. An autopsy today concluded that he died of multiple chop wounds.

Hours later, two more men were murdered in Belmont and La Horquetta.
Clevon Manswell, 27, was shot dead at Belmont Valley Road at around 7.30 p.m. Dion Mitchell, 27, was also shot and killed while at the home of a friend at Phase Seven, La Horquetta around 8 p.m. Today at around 11.20 a.m. police were called to Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) Recreation Ground, Claxton Bay where the body of an unidentified man was found.

The man, believed to be in his late 20’s, was found a bullet wound to his chest. Police said they were told by witnesses that the deceased was earlier seen speaking on a cell phone and sitting on the steps of the pavilion.

Residents later heard a gunshot and saw a man running from the scene.
No arrests have been made in any of the homicide investigations.
