Police were responding to a report that a man was seen holding a gun in the back seat of a black Nissan B-12 car, at around 1 p.m.

A contingent of officers, led by ASP Zamsheed Mohammed, pursued the vehicle. The officers intercepted the car at New Grant Junction, following a chase along Naparima/Mayaro Road.

Four men, of Cocoyea and La Romaine, and the teenager, from Port of Spain, were arrested.

The officers seized a pistol and 44 rounds of ammunition.

The car was impounded at Princes Town Police Station. A search was ordered to determine whether the vehicle was stolen.
