Girl accuses two relatives of rape

By Carolyn Kissoon carolyn.kissoon@trinidadexpress.com

Police are investigating allegations by a 12-year-old schoolgirl that she was sexually assaulted by two relatives.

The girl, accompanied by her mother, reported the incident at the Rio Claro Police Station on Wednesday night.

She lived at the home of a relative, but moved in with her mother in another area last week.

Investigators were told the girl was raped by a relative on numerous occasions over the past two years.

She said another relative assaulted her last month.

The girl told police she was threatened by the men and was afraid to talk about the attacks.

She was examined by a district medical officer.

The investigation has been assigned to a Southern Division detective.
