Granny, 96, survives night after fall off cliff

A 96-year-old woman was rescued by police officers after spending several hours at the base of a precipice near her home on Sunday.
Sylvia Maurice Chevalier’s daughter discovered her missing around 7 p.m. on Saturday, when she went to her mother’s room.
The next day a search was conducted by officers of the Brasso police post, along with the canine unit, in a forested area near her home.
Chevalier, of Cameron Road, Gran Couva, was found around 1 p.m.
She was taken for medical attention at Couva Health Facility by police officers and found to have minor scrapes but no broken bones.
Chavalier was also in good spirits and laughed and spoke with oficers and relatives following her rescue.
On Monday when the Express visited Chevalier’s home, a relative said they did not wish to be interviewed by the media.
