ToolsHeadless corpse found in MorugaTHE decomposing body of a headless man found in Moruga is believed to be that of a person who was reported missing earlier this month in central Trinidad. Police have reported that around 4.20 p.m. last Friday, officers attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Homicide and Southern Division detectives acting on information received searched a forested area near Saunders Trace, St Mary's Village where they found the body clad in dark clothing. The head was found two feet away from the body which was in such an advanced stage of decomposition that officers could not determine the ethnicity of the person. District Medical Officer Dr Keith Seelochan visited the scene and ordered the removal of the body to the Forensic Science Centre in St James. An autopsy is expected to take place later this week. —SW |
