Helicopter pilot in court for causing death by dangerous driving

HELICOPTER pilot Robert Anthony Evelyn, appeared in court today charged with dangerous driving that caused the death of a woman on the Beetham Highway in Port of Spain two years ago.
Evelyn, of 22 Old Paddock Road, Blue Range, Diego Martin
surrendered to police today accompanied by his attorney Fareed Ali.
The 29-year-old is a senior first officer with Bristow Caribbean
Limited, where he is employed as a helicopter pilot. He was charged by Sergeant Lezama Ali of the Besson Street Police Station.
Evelyn appeared before Chief Magistrate Marcia Ayres-Caesar
in the Port of Spain Magistrates' Court charged in the death of
Valery Boneo, 44, of Building 29, Apartment 1-4, Old St Joseph Road Plannings.
Boneo, a mother of seven, was hit by a car while attempting to cross the Beetham Highway on her way to purchase fish at the Sea Lots fish market.. The force of the impact dismembered her body.
Evelyn was granted $90,000 bail, and ordered to reappear in court on September 19. As a condition for bail, Evelyn has been told to report to the Arouca Police every Monday until September 30, and then every Monday at the West End Police Station from October 1. He also surrendered his passport.
