Three sons are today searching for their ailing father who walked out of the family home in Barrackpore four days ago and never returned.
Nizam Mohammed, 58, told relatives he was taking a taxi to Princes Town to purchase a weedicide around 8.45am.
Mohammed, who lives with his wife at St Croix Road, Lengua, Barrackpore, was wearing a green stripped jersey, black three-quarter jeans and white sneakers.
Relatives said Mohammed, who suffered two heart attacks in recent months, left his car keys and wallet at home.
His son, Saied, said, "He travelled in the same taxi with a neighbour to go to Princes Town, so we know he went there. But we don't know what happened after. My father is not well and he never did something like this before. I don't know what to think."
Another son, Sadiq, returned from Tobago yesterday to join in the search. "I came home today because I heard what was going on. My father didn't leave home. He never did this before. He is suffering from several medical complications."
The three brothers have searched the homes of relatives, friends and medical institutions in the past days. "But we haven't found any clues that would lead us to our father. I don't want to believe something bad has happened. We are hoping for the best," Saied Mohammed said.
Barrackpore police confirmed that a missing person report was filed.
Anyone with information on Mohammed's whereabouts can contact his sons - Saied, Sadiq and Imran - at 399-5524.
