A SANTA Flora woman is pleading for help to find her daughter and grand-daughter who have been missing for the last eight days.
Christiana Edwards, of Los Bajos, said her daughter, Johvanna Jeremiah, is vulnerable. Edwards said she is fearful that the lives of the missing mother and child are in danger.
Jeremiah, 32, is the mother of two other boys—Bryant, four, and Akeel, three.
She was last seen in a taxi on the morning of August 20 by her sister, Emerald, 14.
Edwards was told that Jeremiah was on her way to Port of Spain to obtain a birth certificate for her younger son.
“I called her later, after four o’clock in the afternoon, and she told me she was in San Fernando. I didn’t hear from her again. I called back several times after that but the phone keeps going to voicemail,” said Edwards.
The grandmother said she is worried about the infant.
“I miss her (baby Christiana). We call her Chrissie,” she said. “I don’t know if she is eating, if her mother is giving her formula. She wears pampers (diapers) and I don’t know if she is being kept clean or what,” she said.
Edwards said Jeremiah had previously left home with the child, but would always return after a few days.
“She has left home several times, even with the baby when she was just a few months old. One time she left the child with one of my cousins in Sangre Grande. She told her she was going out to come back. But she left the child for days and I had to pick her up,” said Edwards.
Edwards said Jeremiah’s older son, Bryant, is currently a patient at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex at Mount Hope suffering with an infection in his stomach.
“Johvanna does not even know anything about that,” said Edwards. “Please, if anyone has seen or heard where she is please go to the nearest police station and let them know.”
