Has Judy Hart the Independent Labour Party (ILP) candidate for the Manahambre/Reform seat for the upcoming local government election been fired by the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC)?
ILP interim leader Jack Warner said on the ILP platform in Rio Claro on Wednesday night she had been dismissed from PTSC.
“Today (Wednesday) Judy Hart in PTSC fired!,” Warner thundered.
Warner claimed it was political victimisation.
Or was it triggered by an exclusive CCN investigative story yesterday (on the Express and on TV6 News) about Hart’s joggling two jobs but hardly ever showing up for work.
In letters obtained by CCN, Hart’s frequent absenteeism was queried by her supervisor and later by PTSC managers who requested she be terminated as a property protection officer.
Security service manager Michael Jackson had penned his recommendations to deputy general manager of operations Brian Juanette concerning Hart.
Juanette confirmed to CCN he had received the letter, but said although he too made the recommendation for her to be terminated, the final say lies with the Human Resources Department.
Hart, was employed at PTSC since last July and collected a salary of about $5,000 after taxes. However, as the months elapsed she seldom showed up for work but continued collecting a full salary the month’s end.
She claimed her duties as a county councillor for the Princes Town Regional Corporation took precedence and had also claimed she had recently undergone eye surgery.
But none of these claims, according to PTSC managers, were ever substantiated by a letter from the corporation or a medical certificate, respectively.
CCN contacted general manager of PTSC Ronald Forde to confirm Hart’s dismissal, Forde said, “I will have to check that and get back to you. At this point, I cannot confirm that.”
