Jamaican killed crossing highway

POLICE are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a man who was knocked down and killed in a crash at Gasparillo yesterday.
The man, police said, was struck at around 6.30 a.m. while attempting to cross the northbound lane of the Solomon Hochoy Highway in the vicinity of the Gasparillo overpass.
Police said they received information that the victim was a Jamaican national.
A police report said a white Toyota Crown taxi was headed north when the vehicle collided with the pedestrian.
The injured man was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he died at around midday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Fernando Police at 652-3206 or St Margaret’s Police Station at 659-2530.
