Reigning International Chutney Soca Monarch Kris "KI" Persad and his band 3Veni will shortly after Carnival present a chutney musical possibly titled "Friends 4D Night" so named after the chutney song he released last Friday.

This is also the song with which KI intends to defend his title on January 26 when the final of the International Chutney Soca Monarch takes place at Skinner Park, San Fernando. The song is a sequel of "Single 4 Ever".

The musical, KI's father/manager Varendra Persad told the Sunday Express, is based on all the songs the young musician has released since he began his solo career in 2009.

Persad said the songs can be traced as a continuing storyline and KI is creating the musical based on the various scenarios painted in the songs that includes; "Tek He Gyal", "We Coming", "Catch Meh Lover", "Doh Leave Meh" and of course "Single 4 Ever".

"This will be the first chutney musical ever and it will feature Bollywood quality choreography in the dancing, original songs, skilled actors and a first class set. KI is working on putting things together to begin rehearsals even in the midst of preparing with 3Veni for the Chutney Soca Monarch."

"It has been a hectic year for us and the band will be stronger than ever before for this coming Carnival season, which, as short as it is, still has a lot of work lined up. This musical will take the chutney genre to a new level because people will realise the endless possibilities of not only chutney music, but all our local musical art forms," Persad said.
