Kidnapped man rescued by police
POLICE arrested three bandits on Friday night when they kidnapped an Aranjuez man and attempted to rob him by forcing him to withdraw money from his bank account via an automated teller machine (ATM).
The incident began around 8 p.m. on Friday when the victim, Rajdeo Ramkissoon, was abducted from an Aranjuez bar by three men.
They ordered Ramkissoon to go into his nearby home and retrieve his ATM card.
Someone called the police and gave them a description of the car used by the bandits.
About half-hour later, after being abducted, the car was intercepted along Eastern Main Road in San Juan by the police.
Ramkissoon was freed and the three bandits were arrested.
They are expected to be charged later this week. They will be placed on a number of identification parades as they are suspects in several other robberies.
Barataria CID officers are continuing investigations. —GG
