Killing a hired hit

Instructor shot dead:

POLICE have information that the shooting death of driving instructor Dale Samaroo was a hired job.

Samaroo, owner of Samuel and Sons Driving School, was shot in the head as he sat in the passenger seat of his Nissan B15 car on Monday. He died hours later at the Port of Spain General Hospital.

Police said 42-year-old Samaroo was shot and killed following death threats in a personal matter.

His killer casually walked away, police said.

Investigators have requested Samaroo's telephone records, the Express was told.

Samaroo's 18-year-old student witnessed the shooting.

He lived in Endeavour, Chaguanas.

The killing happened on Ramsaran Street, Chaguanas, while he was conducting driving classes.

Investigators have a description of the suspect and continued the search for him last evening.

Samaroo's relatives did not want to speak with the media yesterday.
