A 27-year-old Picton Road, Laventille man—who later died—was brought to Port of Spain General Hospital on Wednesday night with multiple gunshot injuries.
But when hospital officials tried to find the people who brought him in, to question them about his injuries, they left.
The man was identified yesterday as Kevon Hercules.
He lived with his relatives at Picton Road and although the police don't know where he was attacked they speculate that the shooting occurred in the St Barb's, Laventille area as several gunshots were heard in that vicinity around 8 p.m.
Police said around 9 p.m. Hercules was dropped off at the hospital's Accident and Emergency Ward by two men, who quickly left.
The man had several gunshot wounds to his head, chest and neck and by the time he was rushed into an operating theatre he had died.
Homicide Bureau officers are continuing investigations.
The murder toll stood at 323 up to presstime last night.
