The Movement for Social Justice (MSJ) launched its own newspaper yesterday, highlighting activities within the party and educating the public on governance and labour.
David Abdulah, political leader of the MSJ, hosted a press conference to launch the newspaper at the party's office, at Southern Main Road, Marabella.
Flanked by executive members of the party, Abdulah said the newspaper was part of a series of activities planned for this year.
"2012, as we had said, is the year of the MSJ. We had made that announcement on the resignation of brother McLeod, saying that in 2012 we are going to make some major strides forward in building the political party into a very formidable force in the country," he said.
Abdulah said the newspaper is expected to educate the public on the struggles of ordinary people to fashion a new civilisation and better society.
The newspaper, he said, costs $2 and will be available at the party's office in Marabella and from executive members.
Abdulah said the newspaper was being funded by the MSJ which, he added, will soon launch the Foundation for Social Justice, to engage in the work of public policy formation, debates and forums.
The newspaper contains articles on the political party's development, governance, labour and the trade union movement and youths.
