Man charged for making false police report

A 36-year-old PH driver of La Romaine has confessed to making a false report to police.

The man, a PH driver, went to the Couva Police Station last Wednesday and reported that he was hijacked and robbed by three gunmen.

He told officers the incident occurred around 4.55 p.m.

The driver was questioned and later confessed that he made up the story. Constable Ali charged the man with making a false report to police.

He is expected to appear before a Couva Magistrate.
