Shot in head on Tuesday...

By Mark Fraser

Mikel James, 26, of Waterwheel Road, Diego Martin, is still fighting for his life at the Intensive Care Unit of the Port of Spain General Hospital after he was shot in the back of his head on Tuesday night.
According to police reports, James was a passenger in a rental vehicle which was travelling east along Ravine Road, Petit Valley, when another vehicle pulled in front of the rental car.
Loud explosions were heard and the driver of the rental car, fearful for his life, reversed out of Factory Road and rushed toward Maraval Police Station. The driver soon realised James had been shot several times in the back of his head and legs.
The driver was unharmed.
The police then rushed James to the hospital, where he remained warded up to late yesterday.
A party of officers from the Western Division, including Insp Thomas, Cpl Linton and PC Joseph, are continuing investigations.
Police said they had key information they were pursuing which would lead to the arrests of two suspects.
