Man in court for Princes Town murder

A LABOURER yesterday appeared before the Princes Town court charged with the murder of mother of two, Develyn Simpson.

Peter Junior Placide, 30, of New Grant, faced Magistrate Avason Quinlan, who read the indictable charge laid by Constable Lewis.

It was alleged that Placide murdered Simpson between August 21 to August 22.

Simpson, 32, was found dead last Friday in her apartment at Matilda Junction, Princes Town.

Attorney Sean Sobers appeared on Placide’s behalf.

During his brief court appearance, Quinlan told Placide that, by virtue of the law, bail could not be considered for him.

“Yes ma’am,” he said.

The matter was adjourned to September 23.
