AN argument with another man is believed to be the reason why a 62-year-old Morvant resident was killed sometime between Monday evening and yesterday morning.
The body of Robert Swan was found lying in his bed at his Morvant Avenue home around 2.30 a.m. yesterday by one of his neighbours.
He was bleeding from the head, said investigating officers.
Police said they received information that sometime on Monday, Swan had an argument with another man from Sawmill Avenue in Barataria.
Police believe Swan may have been followed to his home by the man, who later dealt him a blow to the head.
Swan’s neighbour went into the house and found the elderly man’s body before contacting police.
Detectives from Morvant Police Station, located a short distance away, together with homicide and crime scene investigators, went to the area and carried out enquiries.
Investigators said they went in search of the suspect in the Sawmill Avenue area, but up to yesterday evening he was not found.
Swan’s killing took the murder toll for the year to date to 305, according to an Express tally.
