Man killed in Cocorite

...ODPM issues traffic alert

A man was shot and killed in full view of people, while standing on the sidewalk outside the compound of Peake's at Western Main Road, Cocorite this morning.

The man, identified as 21-year-old Khaleel Blanchfield, was shot multiple times by a killer who stepped out of a vehicle, committed the act, then walked away.
Homicide officers at the scene. The killing happened at around 8.30 a.m. Blanchfield was killed while on his way to work at Peake's Training Company. He was shot on the head and died at the scene.

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) has issued an alert, stating "Motorists are advised there has been a shooting recently in the vicinity of the Peake's compound in Cocorite. Traffic is building up rapidly along the highway and is already extending to the MovieTowne area. Please proceed with caution and avoid slowing down to observe the incident; as this may worsen the existing traffic situation".
