Man killed near home

Police are investigating the murder of 34-year-old Kevin Moore yesterday afternoon outside his Arima home. While up to press-time full details remained unavailable, sources told the Express that around 1.15 p.m., residents of Palm Court Drive, Train Line Road, heard several loud explosions and observed Moore lying on the ground outside his home in a pool of blood.
He appeared to have been shot multiple times.
The police and emergency health services were notified and a party of officers from the Northern Division and nearby Pinto Police Post, including Cpl Persad, PC Richard and PC Primus, responded.
Moore, who police said was a construction worker by trade, was rushed to Arima District Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
This killing pushes the murder toll for the year to date to 287.
On September 3 last year, the figure was 258.
