Man shot 9 times dies at hospital

 AN Arima man who was shot nine times after buying doubles last week has died in hospital.

Dead is 47-year-old Sheldon Isaac of Peytonville, Carapo.

According to police reports, last Sunday morning Isaac was standing in the vicinity of Spancrete and O’Meara Road, Malabar, when he was approached by a man who fired several shots in his direction hitting him numerous times.

He had just finished purchasing two doubles.

Isaac was taken to the Arima Health Facility where he was treated and transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope where he was warded in a critical condition.

Isaac died at the hospital yesterday.

A man who was later arrested, remains in police custody assisting officers with their investigations.

Isaac’s death pushes the murder toll for the year to 33. —JJ
