ToolsMan shot dead at home in CocoriteA ROBBERY gone awry is believed to be the reason why a 53-year-old Cocorite man was shot dead at his home early yesterday morning. Shots rang out seconds after Justin Thomas was heard screaming for help by his neighbours after the killers entered his home at Upper Cocorite Terrace. Police said they were told by Thomas's neighbours that around 12.30 a.m., they heard the man screaming for help before hearing several loud explosions. Following this, police said they were contacted and they found Thomas's lifeless body lying in the living room of his home with gunshot wounds to his head and back. His killing has carried the murder toll for the year so far to 97, according to an Express tally. Thomas lived alone and was not known to be involved in any criminal activities, said investigators. Officers said they believed he was murdered when the gunmen became enraged by him raising an alarm. Homicide detectives are continuing investigations. —Rickie Ramdass |
