San Fernando East MP and former prime minister Patrick Manning celebrated his 67th birthday yesterday at his San Fernando home surrounded by loved ones.
In a brief telephone interview with the Sunday Express yesterday afternoon, Manning who sounded in an upbeat mood, said his birthday had been “fairly quiet”.
“But some folks are coming (last night) and that would be fine,” he added.
Asked about his meeting with Opposition leader Dr Keith Rowley last Friday at Balisier House, Port of Spain, Manning declined comment, saying: “Dr Rowley is the political leader and we had a discussion, he will do all of the talking on that score. I have nothing to say, he will be doing all of the talking.”
Asked about what was discussed following the meeting last Friday Rowley told the Sunday Express they had spoken about everything including Manning’s health, his plans, their plans, the party, his constituency as well as the situation in the country.
