Mason murdered

 A 47-year-old Caparo man was discovered beaten to death near his home yesterday. 

Franklyn Ramdeen, 47, of Chickland Road, was found by police, who received a call that a man was seen lying at the side of the road. 

According to a police report, around 7 a.m., Ag Cpl Bunsee and PC Bansee of Brasso Police Station responded to a report and went to Chickland Road. They observed the body of a  man lying on the roadside, with marks of violence. 

DMO Dr Ramlogan ordered the body removed to Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy. 

Pathologist Dr Eslyn McDonald Burris found that Ramdeen had died as a result of blunt force trauma.

Central Division police are investigating the killing.

His death takes the murder toll for the year to date to 235.

The figure on July 14 last year was 199.
