Met Office: Rainfall normal

By Julien Neaves

THE RAINFALL yesterday that caused minor flooding in downtown Port of Spain and other parts of North Trinidad was part of the "regular rainy season", according to the Met Office.

The Met Office informed the Express that there was a "little system" to the east of the country that was causing more instability than usual but there were no other systems presently.

The representative added that the clear morning and heavy afternoon showers were not strange "but is normally rainy season weather."

Questioned whether this country was being affected by Tropical Storm Ernesto, the Met Office representative reported that it was not but the system was affecting Mexico.

There had been reports of some flooding along the Eastern Main Road, but the San Juan Regional Corporation did not confirm this.
