Met Office predicts a few light showers

It's going to be a bright Christmas Day—interrupted by scattered light showers.

The Met Office in Piarco yesterday forecast sunny conditions for the Christmas Day holiday today, interrupted with light showers in localised areas.

"It will be a mixed day," said a Met spokesman.

The rain expected will be due to convectional rainfall, when the earth is heated, causing water to evaporate and the ensuing water vapour forms rain clouds. This type of rainfall is popular in the tropics, and the showers may be heavy sometimes, but don't last very long.
