MISSING Santa Flora mother Johvanna Jeremiah and her baby were spotted in Sangre Grande last week.
Jeremiah’s mother, Christiana Edwards, said yesterday she received phone calls from two persons who responded to a public appeal for help to find her daughter and 19-month-old granddaughter, Christiana.
She told the Express that she was relieved to be told that her granddaughter did not appear hurt or unhappy.
“I feel much better, but I still want to see the child for myself. I hope somebody who has read the news can tell her to contact the nearest police station, or to ask someone to make a call on their phone,” said Edwards.
Jeremiah, 32, is the mother of two other boys — Bryant, four, and Akeel, three. She was last seen in a taxi on the morning of August 20 by her sister, Emerald, 14.
Edwards was told that Jeremiah was on her way to Port of Spain to obtain a birth certificate for her younger son.
However, two callers told Edwards that her daughter was seen in Sangre Grande last week.
“One caller whom I knew said Johvanna came to her home on Friday with the baby and spent some time. She had no idea that Johvanna had been away from home, otherwise she would have called me at the same time. They did not eat or anything.
“She (the caller) said Johvanna told her around four o’clock that she is going home before it gets dark, so she assumed that is what she was doing,” said Edwards.
Another caller, whom Edwards did not know, told her that Jeremiah was seen walking along a street in Sangre Grande, without the infant.
Anyone with information can also contact Edwards at 319-2802, or Santa Flora Police Station at 649-5555, or Siparia CID at 649-2462.
