Missing teen returns home

By Alexander Bruzual

A 13-year-old girl who was reported missing since Saturday is currently back in the care of her family after she was discovered yesterday by officers of the North Eastern Division Rapid Response Unit.

Police reported that at about 9:00 a.m. yesterday, PC Wellington and PC Legall were on mobile patrol in San Juan, when they received information that a young girl had been seen entering an abandoned home along Weeks Trace, off Mission Road, San Juan.

The officers made their way to the location, and they found the teenager in the house.

While the police said her condition appeared to be satisfactory, the young girl was expected to be conveyed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex later that day to be examined.

The girl was reported missing by her 34-year-old mother at 7:20 p.m. on Saturday after she ran away from her Sunshine Avenue, San Juan, home following an argument.

Investigations are continuing.
