More witness statements filed

FOUR more statements have been given by State witnesses in the case against six police officers charged with murder, prosecuting attorney Eileen Green told the court.

Defence Attorney Khan will then have the option of calling these witnesses for cross-examination before the Princes Town court. Filing of statements is a way of expediting a matter. It allows for the defence to read the evidence and, if desired, call the witness to take the stand.

Senior Magistrate Debra Quintyne adjourned the case to next Thursday.
