Police in Tobago have intensified their search for the people involved in the murder of James Morris.
Arrests are expected soon, police said.
Morris, 67, a People’s National Movement activist and building contractor, was chopped to death at his Mt Pleasant home on Wednesday morning.
An undisclosed sum of cash and jewelry were stolen.
Several people have been questioned, but no arrests have been made in the matter. Officers have been revisiting the crime scene, dusting for fingerprints and looking for additional clues.
Residents have also been questioned.
In an unrelated incident on Wednesday night, two cutlass-wielding bandits robbed the Carnbee Gas Station of $28,000 in cash. The men escaped on foot.
Constable Sandy is continuing investigations into the matter.
A number of men also attempted to rob an Amalgamated Security van, but were met with a high-powered rifle pointed at them by a security officer.
They escaped on foot.
Old Grange police are continuing investigations.
