Morvant man shot dead close to home

A TWENTY-NINE year old man from Morvant was shot dead last Friday night, bringing the country's murder toll to 306.

The victim, Kencis King of Mahabir Court, Pelican Extension, Morvant was liming with friends around 9.30 p.m. along the road not far from his home when a gunman walked up to him and fired several shots.

King was shot five times about the body, including one gunshot to his neck.

His relatives took him to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

King's relatives told the police that he was a peaceful person who troubled no one and did not break the law.

They could not understand why someone wanted him dead.

Homicide Bureau investigators are continuing investigations.
