Murder at bar: man in court

 A Port of Spain man appeared in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court yesterday for the murder of Marvin Campbell.

Ronald Cobham, 42, stood in the prisoners cell of the court room while the charges were read by Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington.

Cobham was charged with Campbell’s murder on July 11.  

Police officers intercepted a vehicle in which  Cobham was a passenger along South Oropouche Road and found a 9 mm firearm with 13 rounds of ammunition. 

Cobham was not called on to plead for the indictable offence.

Wellington transferred the murder case to Point Fortin Magistrates’ Court on July 22 and firearm and ammunition case to Siparia Magistrates’ Court on July 23.

Campbell, 40, of Sobo Village, La Brea, was shot and killed at his workplace, Dream Girl’s Restaurant and Bar and Mini Mart, in La Brea.
