NP: Fuel distribution to continue in Sea Lots

By Carla Bridglal

State fuel distributor National Petroleum (NP) said yesterday arrangements have been made to ensure fuel distribution continues despite its Sea Lots Head Office remaining closed for the second consecutive day because of smoke damage.

Acting corporate communications manager Rae Gilbert told the  Express yesterday in a brief telephone interview that fuel distribution will continue from the Pointe-a-Pierre bond to make up any shortfall from its Sea Lots compound.

NP’s Sea Lots offices which was closed on Monday did reopen yesterday but staff had to be dismissed early as smoke emanating from the Beetham Landfill continued to permeate the building.

Gilbert said offices should reopen today as normal depending on how badly affected the area is.

Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) sales at the Sea Lots compound also remained suspended although she said they will have continued as normal at other locations.
