Nelson Street shooting victims from Laventille
THREE men who were shot on Tuesday afternoon as they were being driven along Nelson Street, Port of Spain were identified yesterday as Cuthbert Stanisclause, Anderson Barnett and Yoland Collis.
All three men are from Prizgar Lands, Laventille. Stanisclause and Barnett are both 22 years old and Collis is 18. They are all listed as being in stable condition at Port of Spain General Hospital.
At 3.50 p.m. on Tuesday, the men were heading south along Nelson Street in a white Hyundai H-100 pick-up when, approaching Independence Square, they were fired on seven times by a man with a 9mm pistol.
A fourth man, who was not identified by the police, was in the tray of the van and when he saw the gunman he was the first to run.
The other three were caught off-guard and sustained gunshot wounds. After being shot, the men were then approached by a woman who took their money, cellphones and jewelry.
The men were later picked up by police officers on patrol and taken to the hospital, where they were treated.
Besson Street CID officers are continuing investigations.
