NJAC urges Kamla to meet with striker

The National Joint Action Committee (NJAC) wants the Prime Minister to meet with hunger striker Dr Wayne Kublalsingh.

NJAC issued a release yesterday stating that the executive held an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss Kublalsingh's actions and decided to call upon its political leader, Makandal Daaga, who is also Caricom's cultural ambassador, to ask the Prime Minister to intervene in the matter and meet with Kublalsingh "as soon as it is possible".

"NJAC recognises that a human life is at stake and further believes that it is important that the Prime Minister meet with Dr Kublal- singh in order to prevent any occurrence that would be more detrimental to the health of Dr Kublalsingh and create further distress to his wife, mother, children and the organisation to which he pledged support," NJAC stated.
