Om Lalla is the ILP's candidate for St Joseph
Attorney Om Lalla was named last night as the Independent Liberal Party's (ILP) candidate to contest the November 4 by-election for the St Joseph seat. The announcement was made by the ILP's interim leader Jack Warner at a political meeting. Warner later issued a press statement. -
The Independent Liberal Party has announced that prominent attorney-at-law Om Lalla will represent the ILP in the November 4th Bye-Election for the St. Joseph Parliamentary seat.
Om Lalla was admitted to practise at the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago in 1994. He is a member of Ely Place Chambers (Barristers) of London and also sits as an Arbitrator at the International Court of Sport Arbitration in Lausanne, Switzerland.
He is currently a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Law Association and is also admitted to the Guyana Bar.
Mr. Lalla has an extensive practice in very complex and contentious commercial, public law/administrative matters, defamation, commercially sensitive contractual and negligence matters, sports law and related intellectual property matters and criminal litigation with an emphasis on corruption, fraud and misconduct in public office.
In addition to his practice as an Advocate, he has extensive experience in advising both private and public bodies on commercially and financially sensitive matters.
He has served on the Board of Directors of several companies and has been an Advisor to several sporting bodies.
Om Lalla is also the Honorary Consul of Slovenia to Trinidad and Tobago.
