PNM youths join call

The People’s National Movement (PNM) National Youth League also issued a press release yesterday, calling for Persad-Bissessar to revoke Roberts’ appointment.

“The PNM’s National Youth League vigorously condemns the grotesque haemorrhage of State funds via the LifeSport programme,” the release, signed by chairman Aben Phillips, stated.

“The blatant disregard shown to the honest, hard-working taxpayers of this country by those responsible is disgusting and hurtful,” the release added.

The PNM National Youth League said Roberts should accept “ultimate responsibility for its abject failure”.

“We are of the view that it is an affront to the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago to deny that Minister Roberts is devoid of responsibility in this matter or is grossly negligent at best,” the release stated.
