Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has returned from China and will be giving a comprehensive report on the official trip this Thursday.
Persad-Bissessar and some members of the delegation returned on Sunday evening.
The Prime Minister led a delegation which included Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Dookeran, Energy Minister Kevin Ramnarine, Trade Minister Vasant Bharath, members of the business community and local media to China where she opened a Trinidad and Tobago embassy.
The Prime Minister described the China mission trip as one of the “better visits” saying there are a lot of projects to come on stream.
“I see in the media comments made by those opposed to us that really are not informed statements. They are not aware of what the facts are,” said Persad-Bissessar.
As a result, Persad-Bissessar said a comprehensive statement will be delivered on Thursday at the Post Cabinet news conference.
“I’m very happy I was able to conclude my business engagements, political and diplomatic engagements to be back in time for the greatest festival on earth,” said Persad-Bissessar.
