PM to host CARICOM meeting today in Port of Spain
The 27th meeting of the Bureau of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), will be held today, September 17th, under the chairmanship of the Honourable
Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, MP, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago.
The meeting will be held at the Noor Hassanali Conference Room, Office of Parliament, Tower D, International Waterfront Centre, Port-of-Spain. The current members of the Bureau of the Conference of
Heads of Government are:
* The Hon Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, MP, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Chairman of the Conference.
* His Excellency Michel Martelly, President of Haiti, and outgoing Chairman of the Conference.
* Dr the Hon Ralph Gonzalves, Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Incoming Chairman of the Conference.
President Martelly will not be present, but he will be in touch with the other leaders via video conferencing.
The Hon Freundel Stuart, Prime Minister of Barbados, will be present at this meeting in keeping with the decision by the Conference at its 34th Regular Meeting, on the matter of the Economic Situation facing Member
States and the Region.
The Secretary-General of CARICOM, His Excellency, Irwin LaRocque, will also be present.
