THE Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) has launched two new service routes to benefit communities in central Trinidad.
Attending the launch on Wednesday were Transport Minister Stephen Cadiz and Member of Parliament for Caroni Central Dr Glenn Ramadharsingh. The launch took place at the National Development Centre, Carlsen Field.
Cadiz said the communities to benefit the most from the new bus service will be Carlsen Field/Cashew Gardens and Edinburgh 500. He said he was told passengers sometimes pay taxi drivers up to $20 from Chaguanas to those areas. But with the bus system from Chaguanas, passengers will only pay $3 to those areas, from the borough.
Cadiz said there will be four buses scheduled daily for those areas. He said: “We are constantly looking at the route system for the rural areas. We are putting a lot of emphasis on rural areas.”
